My Career Story

My interest in tech started early.
I wrote my first line of code at 10 and by the time I was 16, I was selling custom blog templates for artists and building websites for bands (including my own).

I started with roles in social media and marketing analytics, eventually creating my own role at AAA, where I led our Social Insights practice. I spent a year traveling and selling the social media CoE to club CEO & CMOs, securing adoption across the org, and leading a team of 6 specialists.

Eventually I took a more senior role, leading all 26 of Barclays’ US partnerships, our global social insights team, and our influencer program. Until the Uber partner group poached me for AVP, Product Marketing. There, I managed cross-functional teams in bringing a p0 credit product to market, overseeing all aspects of go-to-market - including User Research.

Working as a User Researcher, I feel I am standing at the center of myself. My intersecting interests & experiences across development, design, marketing, social media, analytics, product, and research have influenced how I manage projects, people, and my own journey.

Sharing what I’ve learned with others

I believe being a part of any community means being invested in it. I am always interested in working with organizations focused on equity for and the empowerment of Black and indigenous communities, eliminating data bias, supporting immigrant rights, or advancing LGBTQ+ equality. I am energized by supporting others and am always open to chatting with folks looking for mentors or hoping to move into the fields of UX Research, Social Media Analytics, or Product Marketing. You can find me on LinkedIn or book a 30-minute mentoring session with me on ADPList.

“I wanted to take a moment to express my sincere gratitude for your honesty and openness during your talk with Miami University's design class. Your words have left a lasting impression on me. As you shared your career journey, I found myself truly inspired. Your story served as a powerful reminder that life isn't always a smooth path, but rather a series of challenges and opportunities for growth. That it is okay to struggle or be uncertain about the future... You reminded me that staying strong, being determined, and appreciating what you have is important.

There have been a couple of moments when I've looked back on your advice. It has urged me to honor my passions and aspirations fearlessly while chasing my dreams of one day being a part of the UXR/design field. Your story has been truly inspiring. Thank you for sharing your story, your wisdom, and your passions. I hope you continue to experience and achieve great things!”

Hobbies & Interests

Design

Outside of work, I do some illustration and accessories design, My work has appeared on sites such as New York Magazine's - The Cut, PAPER Mag, Lucky Magazine and Redbook and my illustration work has been carried by clients including the Mutter Museum, Urban Outfitters, and Schoolhouse Electric & Supply Co..

Photography

I also enjoy shooting digital and film photography (on a very simple Rolleimat F). Most of my work is paired with some sort of ethnography or documentary writing. I am drawn to the way a person’s story can change our impression of the subject.

Comics

I’m also in the process of setting up an indie comics publisher and distributor. My first publication will feature the work of Alan Brown (medusawolf), who is best known for his illustration work for Mastodon’s Emperor of Sand.
